The ceremony itself was beautiful, heartfelt, and… let’s say unique. Just outside the registry office, a farmers’ protest was in full swing! Throughout the vows and ring exchange, we were serenaded by a chorus of beeping tractor horns! It was unexpected, hilarious, and made for a truly memorable backdrop to the ceremony.

I began the day at Andrea and Ashley’s home. Spending some time with them before the ceremony gave me the chance to capture those calm, intimate moments that often go unnoticed. It also gave us time to chat, laugh, and ease into the day naturally.

Andrea was surrounded by love and excitement as she got ready with her sister. One of my favourite shots from this part of the day was Andrea applying her makeup in front of the mirror; soft light pouring in, her sister by her side, and a quiet anticipation in the air.

Meanwhile, Ashley was getting ready in another room. I captured a great shot of him putting on his cufflinks near a window, framed by some beautiful natural light. It’s always special to document both sides of the morning;  there’s something timeless about the simple act of getting ready.

After the ceremony, we moved outside for one of my favourite moments of the day -   the confetti shot. The guests did an amazing job, launching colourful handfuls into the air with perfect timing. These are the kinds of fun, vibrant images that really bring a gallery to life.

With the confetti still settling, the couple spent a few minutes mingling with their guests. I moved quietly among the crowd, capturing natural hugs, joyful reunions, and warm congratulations.

With a tight schedule, we planned a short but sweet portrait session. We took a loop down New Road, through the historic prison area, and back via Tidmarsh Lane. It’s a lovely little route with a mix of urban textures and soft, natural light; perfect for relaxed portraits.

I always aim to keep portraits feeling real and unposed. Andrea and Ashley were amazing; just walking, chatting, and enjoying their first moments as newlyweds. I jumped in with a little direction here and there when we found especially nice light or a great backdrop.

After our Oxford portraits, Andrea and Ashley hopped in a taxi and headed to The Nut Tree Inn in Murcott, where the reception was being held. I joined them shortly after to continue documenting the day.

We made the most of the sunny weather with group shots in the garden. With everyone gathered and the light just right, we got some fantastic images of family and friends celebrating together.

Before the reception got into full swing, I stole Andrea and Ashley away for a few final couple portraits. We found a lovely herb garden that made for a beautiful, fragrant backdrop. Then we took a gentle stroll through the fields behind the inn -  those golden tones and open spaces really added a romantic touch to the images.
